Carbonating sodas

I noticed that my EC1118 ferments so fast that it makes the soda gush without dissolving much CO2 into the soda, beer yeast works much better in my experience.

Anyway now I have a bunch of gushers in the fridge I plan on shaking them a few times a day for 5 days or so and see if this improves carbonation retention.

Your lungs work very hard to remove toxic gases from the blood. Carbon dioxide being one of them. Why on earth would you want to increase the carbonation. You're are turning your body acidic, a perfect environment for cancer and illness.

I can let a bottle sit overnight, and by the next morning it is more highly carbonated than storebought soda.

Not sure of your question-but from my celebrated and renowned beer brewing days(yes-even root beer-has .5 % alcohol)-

Drop liquid to 40 degrees F, apply 40 PSI co2, shake and it will sing(my kegs always sung to me)- so did my root beer-the "sound" is liquid absorbing co2.

You're ingesting carbon dioxide. You decide. I would not do it.
